ASHEBORO, NC. (THECOUNT) — Cynthia Jean Kulan Hopkins, of Sophia, NC, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash Thursday.
Hopkins, 45, died while operating a vehicle Thursday after troopers say, for unknown reasons, she exited the roadway and drove into a ditch. She was ejected from her vehicle during the violent crash.
Hopkins was driving a 2005 Cadillac SUV at the time. She was taken to Moses Cone Hospital and died, troopers said in a press release. source
Hopkins was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries as a result of the wreck.
An unidentified 53-year-old passenger was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers did not indicate the cause of the crash.
A crash reported noted Hopkins wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
The investigation in ongoing.
