BREMEN, GA. (THECOUNT) — Peyton Cook, a student at, Bremen High School, has been identified as the Georgia teen arrested over sending his his own mother, Tammy Lee Watson, to the hospital in critical condition with multiple stab wounds.
Bremen Police arrested, Peyton Kade Cook Jr., Wednesday and charged him with stabbing his mother 11 times as she slept in her bed.
Watson was lying down when she was attacked by Cook with a kitchen knife.
Bremen Police Chief Keith Pesnell said 17-year-old Peyton Kade Cook Jr. had argued with his mom, Tammy Lee Watson, for much of Tuesday night at the family home on North Georgia Avenue.
“He apparently stabbed her while she was in bed, from what we understand around 11 times, wounds all over her body, more toward the neck. I understand she received a lot of fractured bones in her face,” said the Bremen Police chief.
Two other family members, ages 12 and 10, were inside the house at the time of the brutal attack.
Police charged the 17-year-old with two counts of cruelty to children, aggravated assault and aggravated battery under the family violence act.
Medics rushed Ms. Watson via emergency helicopter to Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center where at last word, she was in critical condition.
According to Facebook, Cook is planning on attending Auburn University.
