MONTGOMERY COUNTY, AL (WSFA) – David Ronald Self, of Auburn, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a five-vehicle crash Thursday on Interstate 85 in
Self, 51, was named by Alabama State Troopers as the the man killed in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday morning along I-85 in Auburn.
The initial collision, Involving Self, was multiplied with a total of five vehicles becoming involved, though the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office initially reported seven vehicles.
A 2015 Honda Accord, 2018 Ford Fiesta and a 2012 Peterbilt tractor trailer were also involved in the crash, which happened around 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Waugh.
Troopers said drivers of the Chevy, Honda and Ford were injured in the collision, though the severity of their injuries was not released.
Self was pronounced dead at the scene of injuries consistent with the crash.
Troopers say David Ronald Self, 51, of Auburn, was killed with the 2008 Hyundai Elantra he was driving was hit by a 1994 Chevy C1500 pickup truck. source
The cause of the pile-up remains under investigation.
