CINCINNATI, OH (THECOUNT) — After doctors advised little Brody Allen‘s parents that he likely didn’t have long to live, the community came together and set up an awesome early Christmas display in front of his home, that is, until someone vandalised it, twice.
The Christmas decorations put up in Colerain Township, Ohio for 2-year-old Allen, who has terminal brain cancer, have been vandalized for a second time in a week.
The community organized a puppy as a gift for the boy as part of an early holiday celebration after Allen’s family was advised that he likely wouldn’t live to experience Christmas in December.
The boy’s story went viral and he garnered support from people all over the world. But the outpouring of love proved bittersweet as he has awoken twice to find his blow up outdoor Santa, ripped to shreds, and other festive items destroyed.
“To have so many people across the world reach out to my son to tell him Merry Christmas, we’re thinking about you, we love you is just the greatest gift that I as a father could never give him,” Todd Allen, Brody’s father, said.
But an inflatable Santa Claus had to be repaired yet again because someone vandalized it, as well as other celebratory accessories.
“It’s nice seeing the love, but then you got that .1 percent that want to kind of ruin it for that little boy, and I just don’t get it, just cowards,” neighbor Perry Mattan said, according to WCPO. ““We’ll fix it again … we’re just doing it because that little boy should be happy the rest of the time he’s here on this earth.” source
