Missouri Burglary Suspect Shot Dead By Springfield Homeowner Wednesday

SPRINGFIELD, MO. (THECOUNT) — For the third time in as many days, a person has been shot and killed in Springfield, Missouri, Wednesday.

Police say a homeowner called 911 around 1:30 a.m. to say a man had been shot and killed while attempting to break into a residence Wednesday morning. The 911 call came into the 3200 block of West Madison Street, Springfield, MO.

Police say the homeowner grabbed a gun when he heard noise.

This is the third shooting death investigation in Springfield this week. Police found Joshua Brooks, 40, shot dead in a truck in the 400 block of South Patterson Monday morning. Anthony Correa, 27, was shot and killed at a house in the 2500 block of West Mill Street on Tuesday. Police haven’t made an arrest in either one of those shootings. source
