WICHITA FALLS, TX. (THECOUNT) — Viola Cornelison has been identified as the Wichita Falls woman charged after police says she dragged her son, slammed him to the ground and bit him, because she didn’t want him and his brothers to go to church with their grandmother.
Cornelison, 32, was arrested and charged with one count of injury to a child and one of resisting arrest. The boy told police Saturday night his mother came home very intoxicated, and his grandmother came over to watch them.
He says he and his two brothers got up Sunday and wanted to go to church with their grandmother. The victim says his mother pulled him back in the house and slammed him on the ground and also bit him on the hand. source
Police say Sunday, Cornelison refused to talk and yelled at them from a window. They say her speech was slurred and she appeared to pass out several times.
They say they finally broke in the locked door and put her on the ground and she was cuffed after a brief struggle.
