CLINTON, IL. (THECOUNT) — Mike Dailey, of Peoria, IL, has been identified as the body recovered from Clinton Lake on Thursday afternoon.
Dailey, 63, died from drowning, according to preliminary autopsy results from the DeWitt County coroner.
DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call about 11 a.m. Thursday about a body in the water near the Mascoutin Boat Ramp, in De Witt, IL.
Police initially reported a man was in the boat. The vessel did not capsize. Dailey was not wearing a life jacket, according to police. It is unclear why or how he exited the boat.
A woman, who was in the boat, was not injured in the incident.
Dailey’s body was located near the Mascoutin Boat Ramp.
He was pronounced dead at 1:40 p.m.
Illinois State Conservation police are continuing to investigate. source
Officials said no foul play is suspected.
