ROCKFORD, IL. (THECOUNT) — James Finley has been identified as the man killed in the 3-car accident on Wednesday in front of Eisenhower Middle School, located at. Spring Creek Road, Rockford, IL,
Jim Finley, 36, was traveling east on Spring Creek Road, when he drifted into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason, and struck a car traveling west in the opposing lane.
The female driver of that car tried to avoid Finley and swerved into a van.
Finley was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.
Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz says Finley suffered blunt force trauma to the chest in the crash and taken to Mercyhealth, where he died. source
The female driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
