COLUMBIA, MD. (THECOUNT) — Robin Conway, of Columbia, MD, has been identified as the woman mauled to death by a pit bull just two weeks after she adopted the dog, saving it from a certain euthanization.
Conway, 64, was discovered dead at 7:20 p.m. on Monday at her Tamar Drive, Columbia, residence, by a family member who found the dog hunched over her lifeless body. The family member was able to drag the animal away and secure it to a fence post, according to authorities.

Upon arrival, authorities said the dog barked and although chained, lunged at officials.
The animal was later euthanized.
Investigators said they did not have any information about the dog’s adoption, except that it came from out-of-state.
