MONTGOMERY, AL (THECOUNT) — Seth Ponzer, the son of a woman found shot dead in her Montgomery home, has himself been found dead in Atlanta, according to Montgomery officials.
Ruth Ward, 56, was found shot dead Sunday after the Montgomery Police Department say they responded to reports of a deceased person. The death was deemed a homicide and her son, Ponzer, named as the prime suspect.
Ponzer has since been found dead after fleeing to the Atlanta area, say the Montgomery police.
Medics and police officers responded to the 2000 block of Queens Hollow Court around 8:45 a.m. Sunday on a call of a deceased person. Upon arrival, they found the body of Ruth Ward, 56. Ward had been fatally shot, according to investigators. Her son, Seth Ponzer, 33, was developed as a suspect. source
Police say after the homicide, Ponzer fled to the Atlanta area where he was found dead Monday.
Ponzer’s cause of death was not immediately made available.
