CHARLESTON, WV. (THECOUNT) – Chelsea Ambriz, a meteorologist at West Virginia TV station, WSAZ, is accused of shoving news anchor, Erica Bivens, with such force, she suffered a fractured skull.
Ambriz, 26, is charged with misdemeanor battery following an on-set brawl that left the female anchor with a ruptured eardrum and skull fracture.
A criminal complaint says Ambriz, who works as an on-air forecaster for WSAZ-TV, shoved station anchor Erica Bivens on Sunday. The complaint says Bivens suffered a ruptured eardrum and skull fracture in the fight. It doesn’t say what caused the dispute or where it happened. source
Ambriz is set to appear in court Sept. 21. It’s unclear if she has a lawyer that can be contacted for comment.
The WSAZ station manager, Dan Klein, wasn’t immediately available for comment.
