RICHMOND, VA. (THECOUNT) — Steven P. Richards Jr., has been identified as the motorcyclist killed following an evening Richmond motorcycle crash Wednesday.
Richards, 34, was traveling near 1700 Westover Hills Blvd, Richmond, VA, when, for an unknown reason, lost control of his motorcycle and exited the roadway. The bike came to a rest after striking a tree, according to Richmond police.
Richards was thrown from the bike in the wreck. First responders arrived on-scene and later transported the victim to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries consistent with the crash.
Richmond police tweeted the driver died in a single-vehicle crash in the 1700 block of Westover Hills, and the road will be closed in both directions until around midnight. source

The crash remains under investigation.
