PASADENA, CA. (THECOUNT) — A welfare check by the South Pasadena Police Department of actress and former regular on the popular TV drama ER, Vanessa Marquez, turned fatal Thursday when a “distraught and disabled” Marquez allegedly pulled out a “BB-type” gun, causing an officer to open fire in response, according to police.
While police have only described the victim as a 49-year-old Hispanic woman, a source identified the woman as Marquez, whose other credits include hit film, “Stand and Deliver.”
