HANOVER COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — The shooting death of Hanover County man and woman, Eric Digiacomo and Robin Styles, has been ruled a murder-suicide, police said Tuesday.
Officials Wednesday ruled the death of Mechanicsville couple, Digiacomo, 45, and Styles, also 45, as a murder suicide, according to the medical examiner’s office, saying that it appeared Digiacomo had been shot in the chest before Styles turned the gun on herself.
(ORIGINAL STORY) Robin Styles and Eric Digiacomo have been identified as the Mechanicsville victims in an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday.
Investigators were called to check the welfare of 45-year-old Styles at a home along the 7000 block of River Valley Road at about 11:28 p.m. Wednesday when they observed a woman dash from a porch area to inside the home.
A short time later, multiple gunshots were heard coming from the home, and Styles as well as 45-year-old Digiacomo were found deceased with apparent gunshot wounds.
Upon arrival, officers saw Styles sitting on the porch of her home. As they began approaching the residence, Styles ran inside the home. source
A suicide note was left on a Facebook page belonging to Styles on Wednesday evening.
“Investigators are evaluating all evidence in this case and are working closely with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the actual cause of death,” said Sergeant Matthew Ratchford, “No suspects are being sought at this time.”
