SHASTA COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Frank Alexander Berry, from Shingletown, was arrested Saturday in connection to a woman’s burned body that was found in a rock crevice in the area west of Battle Creek Reservoir on Thursday, August 16.
The woman, who was badly burned, has not been positively identified.
Officials say they believe Berry, 48, had been in a relationship with the victim for the past several weeks.
Detectives said when they found Berry, they noticed he was wearing a hat, glasses, a fake mustache, and has colored his eye brows with a felt marker in an apparent attempt to disguise his identity as he had been made aware that detectives were looking for him. source
Detectives added Berry was armed when they arrested him.
Arson investigators concluded the fire associated with the unidentified victim did not start the nearby wildland fire.
