WILMINGTON, NC. (THECOUNT) — Wilmington Police are asking for the public’s help in locating, Shameka Bernice Cohens, who is wanted over a hit-and-run that led to an assault in Wilmington.
Cohens, 30, has been identified as the driver for a violent hit-and-run that escalated to a violent physical assault on July 31.
Police say Cohens hit the victim’s car while turning in the intersection of South 8th Street & Red Cross Street on July 31. When Cohens didn’t stop, the victim followed her to the Family Fare on North 3rd Street. The victim reportedly confronted Cohens, that’s when she was assaulted before Cohens took off. source
Cohens is charged with hit and run leaving a scene with property damage, simple assault and driving with license revoked.
