KINGS PARK, NY. (THECOUNT) — A man struck by lightning at Long Island park Saturday evening has died, sources say.
The death occurred at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park shortly before 7 p.m. The victim, from Richmond Hills, Queens, was standing under a tree adjacent to the boardwalk at Field 3 when he was struck, according to Randy Simon, a New York State Parks public information officer.
The man was pronounced dead at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown. source
