MADRAS, OR. (THECOUNT) — The three victims, which included a juvenile female, have been identified after being killed early Friday in a head-on car-vs-SUV crash on US-97 north of Madras, Oregon State Police said.
Sarah Marie Steffler, 33, of Moses Lake, Washington, was operating a vehicle when for an unknown reason, she exited the roadway and struck a guardrail. Her vehicle then collided with a southbound 2006 Kia Sportage driven by Miguel Galvan Sanchez, 40, of Manson, Washington, Captain Tim Fox said.
Steffler and a juvenile passenger in the Mazda suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, as did a juvenile female passenger in Sanchez’s Kia, Fox said. source
Steffler and her young passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
another young girl riding in the Kia was also killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
In all, there were four people in the Kia Sportage.
Sanchez and one passenger were transported to area hospitals.
