PASADENA, TX. (THECOUNT) — The suspect in the violent murder of, Candace Akin, the Pasadena, TX, woman found dead in a burned out vehicle Aug 8, has been taken in custody, police say.
Terrance Washington kidnapped Akin in the 3600 Shaver Street, Pasadena, TX, following an argument witnessed by Akin’s daughter.
Akin was forced in a vehicle by Washington who then fled the scene.
Later, the fire department was called to the scene of a vehicle fire. Once the flames were knocked down, first responders located Akin in the backseat.
Authorities say that Akin’s daughter saw her mom engaged in a physical altercation with the suspect. She reportedly heard her mom’s screams from the parking lot. Washington then reportedly forced Akin in her car, and then fled the area with Akin in her car. source
Akin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say that Washington confessed to taking the victim in her vehicle against her will and setting it on fire.
Washington is currently being held and charged with Aggravated Kidnapping and Tampering with Evidence.
