VICKSBURG, MS. (THECOUNT) — 30-year-old Jared Develle Brinner of Vicksburg and 32-year-old Ron Lydell Hedrick of Pattison, were named as the victims killed after a carjacking suspect crashed into their vehicle head-on in Vicksburg.
The pair were killed after a Buick Regal they were traveling in was hit by 29-year-old Deon Jamaal Hatten, from Jackson, who was fleeing police while going northbound at a high rate of speed near 300 Warrenton Road in Vicksburg, MS.

The Buick was fully engulfed in flames when police arrived on scene.
Lieutenant Johnnie Edwards said police were called to the Riverwalk Casino, located at 1046 Warrenton Road, on Sunday around 2:55 a.m., in reference to malicious mischief. Hatten reportedly ran and and snatched a woman out of her 2007 Blue Lincoln MLT pickup while she was in the parking lot of the casino. He then jumped in and drove away at a high rate of speed. source
Following the crash, Hatten was transported to an area hospital and was last listed in critical condition.
He is facing charges of carjacking and two counts of vehicular manslaughter.
