GREENVILLE, ME. (THECOUNT) — Joe Robertson, and his wife, Anita Robertson, and their 24-year-old daughter, Laura Robertson, have been identified as the Canadian family members who died in a plane crash Monday.
Pilot, Joseph Robertson, 58, was traveling with his wife, also 58, and their daughter Laura, 24, from Pembroke, Ontario, headed to Prince Edward Island when the fatal crash occurred in Greenville Monday.
A three died in the crash.
Police say the Federal Aviation Administration received a call at 10:40 a.m. that the plane, registered to Joe Robertson, was in distress as it was approaching the airport. The small aircraft crashed at 10:45 a.m. just shy of the runway. Police say Joseph, Anita and Laura Robertson, all from Niagara, Ontario, died at the scene. source
According to flight records, “Joseph Robertson had made the trip from St. Catharines to Pembroke three times since July 21.
A spokesman for the NTSB says the agency will likely have an update about the crash later on Tuesday.
The plane departed from Pembroke, Ontario and was heading to Prince Edward Island.
Local police along with the FAA and NTSB are all investigating what caused the crash.
