VA Man Sly Boyd ID’d As Victim Found Beaten To Death In Mechanicsville

HANOVER, VA. (THECOUNT) — Sylvester Eugene Boyd, of Mechanicsville, VA., has been identified as the victim suffering from blunt force trauma in the 8000 block of Dunwoody Road.

Once on scene, deputies located Boyd, 47, with obvious signs of trauma.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On July 26, 2018, at approximately 9:10 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8000 block of Dunwoody Road for a suspicious death. Upon arrival, Hanover Fire-EMS pronounced Sylvester Eugene Boyd, 47, of Mechanicsville deceased. source

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the actual cause of death.

Mechanicsville is an unincorporated area and census-designated place in Hanover County, Virginia, United States. The population was 36,348 during the 2010 census, up from 30,464 at the 2000 census.
