NASHVILLE, TN. (THECOUNT) — Tennessee authorities named, Daniel Hambrick, as the man involved in a the fatal shooting by Nashville police officer, Andrew Delke, during a traffic stop.
Hambrick, 25, was shot dead Thursday evening while on a sidewalk beside an apartment complex.
TBI spokesman Josh DeVine says authorities believe that during the traffic stop, Hambrick “reportedly emerged from the vehicle with a firearm in his hand” and the “situation escalated,” resulting in Delke firing his gun multiple times. source
Metro Nashville police identified the officer who shot Hambrick as 25-year-old Delke.
A police spokesman said Delke has been placed on “routine administrative leave.”
The shooting remains under investigation.
