LLOYD, NY. (THECOUNT) — New Paltz woman, Danielle M. Pecoraro, has been identified as the victim of a fatal head-old crash in Llyod, NY, Sunday night.

Pecoraro, 39, was operating a 2018 Ford pickup truck on Rt. 299 in Lloyd, NY, when she was struck head-on by a 2008 Porsche Cayenne, driven by, Ryan Williams, who was fleeing a police pursuit.

The passenger in the 2018 pickup truck, Mercedes Rosato, 24, of New Paltz, was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Pecoraro was pronounced dead at the scene.

The chase followed a 7:30 p.m. report to Town of Lloyd Police of an erratic operator. Police located the vehicle, a 2008 Porsche Cayenne, and attempted to stop it. The vehicle failed to comply and fled westbound on State Rt. 299 at a high rate of speed. Members of the state police assisted the Town of Lloyd PD with the pursuit. As the vehicle approached the intersection at South Street near the Lowe’s store, it struck the side of a 2008 Ford, then crossed over into the eastbound lane striking a 2018 Ford pickup head-on. Williams, 29, of Poughkeepsie, the suspect driving the Porsche, was transported to Westchester Medical Center and is listed in critical but stable condition.
