LEXINGTON, SC. (THECOUNT) — Lexington man, Tijhee Dijon Salley, has been identified by the South Carolina Highway Patrol as the victim in a deadly auto-vs-bicycle, hit-and-run crash Friday night.
Salley, 19, was operating a bicycle when he was stuck from behind by an unknown vehicle who then fled the scene in the area of YMCA Rd., and Ruff Acres Ln., Lexington, SC.
SCHP is searching for the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Lexington County Friday night.
Officials say Salley was riding his bicycle along YMCA Rd & Ruff Acres Ln Lexington, SC., Lane around 9 p.m. when he was struck from behind by a vehicle. Salley was transported to Palmetto Health Richland, where he died from his injuries. The driver fled the scene, according to Corporal Sonny Collins with Highway Patrol. source
Salley was pronounced dead at an area hospital on Saturday as a result of traumatic injuries.
Troopers are actively hunting a light-colored or white mid-size pick-up truck in connection with the incident. It may have damage to the right side, hood, and windshield, troopers say.
The crash remains under investigation.
