GARZA COUNTY, TX (THECOUNT) — The two men severally injured in a horrifying boating accident while visiting Lake Alan Henry over the weekend have been identified as, Cole Michael and Adam Kelley.
Michael, 31, and Kelley, 29, where on a boat on the Party Cove area of Gobbler Creek when the tragic accident occurred. Officials said one man had both feet severed and the other had one foot severed in the accident. It was unclear which man sustained which injury.
The incident happened in Gobbler Creek, which most people refer to as Party Cove, when a boat had its anchor stuck in the water, according to an official with the Texas Game Wardens. The two men went to the back of the boat to try and untangle the anchor. The boat operator then engaged the boat propeller while the two men were still trying to untangle the anchor, injuring them severely. source
The Game Wardens Office says two boats were involved in the incident. One boat had 10 people on it and a second boat had four people. Both injured men were on the second boat.
Both men have been hospitalized and their conditions are unknown at this time.
