SPARTANBURG, SC. (THECOUNT) — A South Carolina woman who posted on Facebook about her leaving on a weekend excursion, returned home to find her residence broken into Sunday.
The Spartanburg woman told police she posted on Facebook that she was leaving town, and when she returned, the Charlesworth Avenue home had been burglarized, according to a report from Spartanburg police.

A woman who lives at the home said she posted on Facebook that she was leaving for the weekend. When she returned home she discovered someone had broken in and stolen several items, including two TVs. source
Upon arrival, investigators located a broken window on the rear door of the residence, an incident report said.
Police dusted the surroundings for fingerprints.
It is unknown if the victim’s Facebook post played a direct role in the robbery.
“Maybe police should be dusting her Facebook for digital fingerprints,” said one commenter on Facebook.
No arrests have been made in the case.
An average 2,000,000 home burglaries are reported each year in the United States with about 30 percent being as a result of an open or unlocked window or door.
