PENDER COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Barbara Lanier has been identified as the Wilmington, NC., woman killed in a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening in Burgaw, NC.
Lanier, 52, was operating a vehicle when she was killed in the wreck that occurred on Stag Park Road, according to the NC State Highway Patrol.
Lanier’s vehicle reportedly ran off the right side of the road. When Lanier over-corrected, she drove off the left side of the road and struck a mailbox and a tree. source
The State Highway Patrol said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the wreck.
