Excessive? Oregon Police Officer Caught On Video Delivering Brutal Head Strikes To Homeless Man During Arrest [GRAPHIC]

DETROIT, OR. – (THECOUNT) Please be aware, if you decide to view the following video, please do so with the understanding it is extremely graphic and may prove disturbing to some.

An unidentified bearded Sheriff’s deputy was caught on video repeatedly striking a known transient in the head area during a takedown involving several officers Monday in a Marion County.

The brutal beating was caught on tape by a local KGW news crew. The video was shot outside the Marion County search-and-rescue command center where police were conducting a search for a missing father and son.

Griffith, a deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, said a local transient was arrested and charged with interference after he continually entered the command post and disrupted crews. The sheriff’s office sent its mental health team to the scene, and they are now working with the suspect to see if they can help him, Griffith said. source

Officials have not yet addressed the manner in which the man was taken in custody or if excessive force was used.
