NASHVILLE, TN (THECOUNT) – Police are seeking a man suspected in a deadly hatchet attack at a Nashville area health club Monday morning.
Police say Domenic Micheli, 36, hacked to death the owner of The Balance Training located in Belle Meade, TN. Micheli is reportedly a former employee of the establishment.
Police say, Micheli entered the gym and brandished a hatchet and another sharp weapon and attacked the owner/ operator, 46-year-old Joel Paavola.
The deadly hacking happened while at least three other people watched, before they took cover.
Paavola was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Micheli then took off in a silver Toyota Yaris and hasn’t been seen since. source
Authorities say Micheli was fired from the Nashville area gym 14 months ago.
Police said the suspect spent some time in California, but they’re not sure when he returned to the area.
Micheli once declared on Facebook that he was the “Sun of God” and was arrested near the White House in April.
He was arrested for unlawful entry and failure to obey an officer near the White House late on the night of April 28, according to a Washington, D.C. police report obtained by Patch, after pulling his car to a security checkpoint and refusing to move. source
