Jessica Payton Dennis has been identified as the South Carolina woman who died after falling from a moving motorcycle in Blacksburg Saturday night.

Dennis, 26 of Clover, SC., was named by the coroner as the young mother killed after falling off motorcycle then struck by a pickup truck that was hauling a race car on a trailer, the coroner said.

The driver of motorcycle fled the scene.

The incident took place in the 400 block of East Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC, at 11:55 p.m.

The coroner says the woman was a passenger on a motorcycle that was heading east on Cherokee Street when she fell off in the 400 block. She was then struck by an eastbound pick-up truck that was pulling a trailer hauling a race car, the coroner said. source

Dennis was not wearing a helmet during the incident and sustained severe blunt force head trauma, the coroner’s report noted.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the motorcycle, who fled the scene, was later identified by Blacksburg Police.

Authorities have not indicated whether any arrests or charges will be brought forth in the fatal incident.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.

The investigation is ongoing.

According to Facebook, Dennis was a stay-at-home mother of two young children. She studied at Clover High and was originally from Grove City, Ohio, according to her Facebook profile.
