Indiana woman, Toni Bittler, was killed Friday by a bullet that allegedly entered a wall of her Evansville apartment and struck her in the torso. And now police are questioning a male neighbor and searching for a unidentified woman with child who departed the apartment shortly before officers arrived on scene.
Bittler, 41, who was found by her husband, Tony Bittler, died as a result of injuries caused by a single gunshot wound while inside her residence located on North Roosevelt Drive, according to the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office.
The origin of the bullet is believed to be from a neighboring apartment. A male neighbor is currently being held as a person of interest.
Evansville Police Department said a man contacted 911 to say that he had found his wife lifeless upon returning from work, Friday around 5:30 p.m.
Arriving police discovered a single bullet hole in one of the walls between the victim’s apartment and a neighboring apartment.
Toni Bittler was pronounced dead at the scene.
