PORTLAND, Ore. (TheCount) — Portland police made a grisly discovery Saturday morning while securing the route for the Starlight Run, the 40th running of the annual June 2 evening event.
Police found a person shot to death inside the Oregon Culinary Institute, which is along the route of the annual running event.
A homicide investigation was opened and authorities expect to be on scene for hours. Police said they plan to condense the crime scene as not to impede the starting gun of the Starlight Run.
Around 8:30 a.m. police went to the building, 1701 Southwest Jefferson Street, Portland, OR, after a shooting was reported. Officers found the person inside and tried life-saving measures. But the person died at the scene. source
Police found no other victims and cleared the building.
There is no motive or suspect information at this time.
