Midland High School student, Gavyn Cooper, has been identified as the victim in a fiery Midland International Airport plane crash Thursday evening.
Cooper, a Midland High School varsity quarterback, died along with his father, after the single-engine Cirrus SR22 they were traveling aboard crashed during take off.
According to the FAA, a single-engine Cirrus SR22 was preparing to take off from the airport when it crashed at the end of a runway and caught on fire. source
Gavyn and his father were the only people onboard the plane when it crashed.
Police have not officially released the conditions and identities of the victims.
