Baltimore Police confirmed 16-year-old Dawnta Harris arrested Monday admitted to purposely running over Baltimore Officer Amy Caprio.
In total, four suspects were taken in custody in Caprio’s murder committed during a burglary Monday afternoon in a residential neighborhood in Perry Hall.
Harris has admitted to running Caprio over with a Jeep and is being charged as an adult, according to charging documents.
The documents say Harris was waiting in a Jeep Wrangler while the three other suspects were involved in the burglary.
Witnesses stated that a Jeep Wrangler ran over the officer. They also reported hearing at least one gunshot.
Police said they have recovered the Jeep.
The officer’s exact cause of death has not been disclosed.
