Friends and family have identified Lauren Wolford as the young woman killed when a BMW struck her as she walked on the sidewalk near San Marcos, CA., Mission Hills High School Saturday.
Wolford, 18, was walking on Mission Road when a BMW left the roadway and struck her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to calls about a car hitting a student near the school. A BMW traveling westbound on Mission Road had hit a pedestrian on the sidewalk. The driver didn’t suffer serious injuries, but the victim, later identified as Wolford, died at the scene. source
Sheriff’s investigators say the driver is cooperating and the cause of the crash is still being investigated.
“She was about to graduate high school, go to college, find a dream job, have a family … (It’s) terrible,” said Wolford’s friend, Ryan Ringler.
