TheCount.com has learned that a was a request from an administrator at Lewis and Clark Elementary School for a welfare check that lead to the discovery of four people dead in a Grand Forks, North Dakota home Thursday morning.

According to the Grand Forks Police Department, the school contacted the police department to request a welfare check at a home on the city’s south end. An officer who checked on the home made the grisly discovery.

The officer forced entry and found four people dead inside the home. The names of the deceased are being withheld at this time, pending notification of next of kin. According to police, there are no indications of a specific and ongoing threat to the general public, but “due to the nature of this incident,” police “also cannot say with certainty there is no threat.” source

“This aspect is being vigorously investigated, and should an ongoing threat to public safety be established, public notification will occur without delay,” police said in a news release.
