Phoenix police say 22-year-old Ronald Hays remanded himself into custody in the deadly hit-and-run of 46-year-old Isela Ortega.
Ortega was crossing Van Buren Street near 27th Avenue Sunday night when she was struck and killed by a gray four-door Chrysler 300.
The 22-year-old turned himself in Tuesday after a woman died crossing the street when he struck her with his car, police said.
The car dragged Ortega for three blocks then left the scene. Ortega was pronounced dead on scene when officers responded around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. source
According to the Phoenix Police Department, Hays turned himself over to police Tuesday and he was booked into jail.
Hays is facing charges of leaving the scene of a fatal collision.
