Keith Zeldon Taylor has been named by the California City Police Department as the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal crash involving an ambulance in California City, CA., Friday.
Taylor, 31, was under the influence when he lost control of a Chevrolet Tahoe and crashed into a Hall Ambulance Friday. Police said the toddler was thrown from the Chevy when it sideswiped the ambulance on California City Boulevard between Highway 14 and Mitchell Boulevard.
During the crash, a 4-year-old, who police believe is Taylor’s son, was ejected from the Tahoe and killed. The crew members in the ambulance, were taken to the hospital for their injuries. Officers reported Taylor was acting strange and fought with paramedics and firefighters at the scene while they were trying to treat him. Officers also discovered alcoholic beverages, marijuana and a meth pipe in the car. source
Taylor has been arrested and taken to jail.
The ambulance wasn’t transporting any patients at the time of the crash.
