Tennessee radio icon, Tommy Jett, has died. He was 77.
Jett was a longtime diabetic who had been battling several conditions for the last several years. He still remained quite active.
Until the end, he enjoyed being with his family, friends, and fans. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. source
He is survived by his wife Charlene.
April 18, 2012, the longtime radio host made news after losing consciousness and going airborne while driving along a rural north Georgia road. His car flipped a half-dozen times before landing in a ditch. Emergency workers spent the next four hours removing Tommy from the wreckage, using the “Jaws of Life.”
After the accident and determined to attend an annual event, Tommy said, “If I’m above ground, I’ll be there.” He made that date. That’s the kind of man he was.
