Byron Tracy Byrd has been identified as the El Paso TX., man killed in a crash in east El Paso Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Byrd, 49, was traveling on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when the crash occurred along the 3000 of N Yarbrough Drive just before 3 p.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed Byrd was driving a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound in the 3000 block of Yarbrough. Police said Byrd was splitting traffic and as he came out from between two vehicles, he came upon a curve and failed to negotiate the curve.
His motorcycle struck the raised curb causing the vehicle and driver to go airborne, said police spokesman Darrel Petry.
Byrd became separated from the motorcycle and struck a pole, said Petry.
Byrd was taken to Del Sol Medical Center where he died.
Police said Byrd was not wearing a helmet.
