A 53-year-old man struck and killed by a vehicle while lying on the edge of Blanton Road has been identified as Thomas Michael Burdeshaw of Sundance Drive in Zephyrhills, Florida.
Burdeshaw, 53, was reportedly lying near the shoulder of the roadway when he was run over by a passing vehicle. Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced Burdeshaw dead at 2:03 a.m.
Witnesses told police Burdeshaw had been seen lying on the ground alongside the south side of Blanton Road, east of Michael Street, shortly before he was hit, the Dade City Police Department said. A motorist, who saw the body, told police Burdeshaw’s body position had changed and he suffered trauma consistent with being struck by a vehicle. source
A number of vehicles passed by the area during that time.
The Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office took possession of the body for an autopsy.
Police are urging anyone with information about the accident or Burdeshaw or the vehicle which may have struck him to contact Detective George Richardson at (352) 521-1493.
