The search for, Dale Hunter, the 76-year-old Greenville County, SC., man reported missing after going on a walk April 5, has ended, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said.
The body of Hunter was found Thursday night, police said.
He said a person found Hunter’s remains in a wooded area near Old Altamont Ridge Road around 5:30 p.m. Hunter was last seen about 11:45 a.m. April 5, at his home in the 1200 block of Altamont Road, according to deputies. source
Since April 5, 172 searchers from various agencies took part in the effort to find Hunter, Sgt. Ryan Flood, with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said.
Flood said the search also involved numerous dog teams, aircraft and drones.
He said roughly 1,384 man-hours were dedicated to the search-and-rescue effort.
