In a sad update, Michele Groves, the woman who was involved in a Columbia motorcycle crash Saturday night, has died.
According to public court records, Aaron Monroe, 38, was charged on Tuesday in Groves’ death and his bond was set at $250,000.
Police said when they made contact with Monroe on the night of the crash, he smelled like alcohol. Officers also said Monroe’s eyes were bloodshot and watery. According to the probable cause statement, Monroe admitted to drinking alcohol. Police said on Monday they were able to confirm that the woman who was also on the motorcycle had died from her injuries.

Court documents also state that Monroe did not have a driver’s license and had seven prior convictions for operating a car without a license and had five prior convictions for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
