Two Florida boys’ attempt to steal a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver’s vehicle were quickly thwarted by their discovery of a strange and unyielding object – more commonly known as a “stick shift.” The confounded boys had no idea how to operate the vehicle because its manual transmission.
Rojelio Sebastian, 14, and Miguel Garcia, 12, tried to take the vehicle while the driver approached the house that allegedly ordered the pizza. When the home’s residents denied the order, the driver, Isaac Javier Ortez, subsequently heard his car’s engine revving and saw the boys struggling to drive away, According to the Miami Herald.
When the car started to roll backward into the street and the boys realized their mistake, they took off running. Ortez identified them later for police when they found the two walking along railroad tracks. source
Both boys were arrested on grand theft auto and possession of burglary tools. Garcia was also charged with possession of drug equipment after police found him with a marijuana pipe.
