GA Woman Casey Clark Identified As Victim In Columbus Murder-Suicide Relationship Unclear

Casey Clark has been named as one of the dead in a Columbus, GA., murder-suicide.

Clark, 29, died after being shot by 56-year-old Denis McGibney. He then turned the gun on himself. The relationship between the pair is unclear.

Police say the murder-suicide occurred at Greystone Falls Apartments, 1701 Williams Court, Columbus, GA 31904.

On Sunday, March 20 around 1:10 p.m. police received a welfare check call at the apartment by friends of Clark who stated she would not answer the door and they could hear a baby crying.

When police arrived, entry was made into the apartment by forcing open the front door. Once inside the apartment, they discovered a deceased male and female. The baby was located unharmed.

Clark and McGibney were involved in a domestic disturbance in which McGibney physically assaulted Clark. McGibney then killed Clark by shooting her and McGibney then shot and killed himself. source

The child was turned over to DFACS until next of kin could be notified.
