TheCount.com reported this morning of a fatal package explosion in Austin, which followed another fatal blast last week, and now a third explosion has occurred.
The third explosion has been reported in Austin, Texas, after an earlier blast on the same day killed a teenage boy. Authorities have said they believe the first two explosions, both the result of explosives left in a package at a residence, are related.
A March 2 explosion killed an adult male.
Both of the deceased victims are African-American, and Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said in a news conference that authorities “cannot rule out hate crime is the cause of this.” source
KVUE reports that a 70-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries in the latest explosion that took place just before noon in Austin. Another woman is reportedly being treated for unrelated injuries.
