A body has been found in the shed behind the home of a missing Georgia woman, Amanda Burnam.
Burnam, aka, Amanda Gail Peeples Burnam, reportedly walked away from the house on Sherwood BLVD about noon Dec. 16. She never returned, according to the Peach County Sheriff’s Office.
The 37-year-old was last seen wearing a T-shirt, jeans and multi-colored shoes. Her cell phone, purse, dog and identification were left in the apartment.
Peach County Sheriff Terry Deese tells WMAZ-TV the agency was investigating a complaint from the landlord about a strong smell coming from the shed. Landlord Eddie Alderman says he investigated the smell and found a body under a blanket. source
Deese says he’s unsure if investigators checked the shed when they received the missing report of Amanda Peeples last December.
Alderman says a detective looked through the shed a few weeks ago and three other people were living in the house.
Deese says his agency is investigating area residents. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is analyzing the body and trying to fund Peeples’ next of kin.
