An 85-year-old South Carolina woman who was brutally attacked and raped in her northeast Columbia home on Valentine’s day called for help by pushing the button on her medical alert device bracelet only for her attacker to take over the conversation, and tell operators, “everything is fine.”
The woman’s cry for help went unanswered after deputies say, Marquille Rondale Livingston, 36, took over the medical alert device conversation and told the agency that everything was “okay.”
After brutally beating and sexually assaulting the senior on Valentine’s Day, deputies say Livingston stole cash and the woman’s watch.
Livingston was arrested on his birthday Saturday on charges of first degree burglary, criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and petit larceny. Deputies say Livingston broke in to the home of an 85-year-old woman’s home Brighton Hill Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Livingston then attacked the victim with his fists and brutally assaulted her sexually, investigators say.source
Investigators say the crime lab was able to collect DNA at the scene, which they say was instrumental in identifying Livingston.
TheCount.com has learned, Livingston has an extensive arrest record dating back several years. He was out on parole at the time of the current incident.
