A Florida Uber driver who is accused of concealing and then failing to report the death of a Myrtle Beach woman, is now claiming he dumped the woman’s body in a wooded area in Tabor City after he says she overdosed on drugs.
Charles Rayford Hunt Jr., 40, of Myrtle Beach, is charged in the death of, Kathleen Capra, 48, also of Myrtle Beach, revealed a police report released Wednesday.
According to a Horry County police report, Capra’s father told investigators she had been picked up by an unknown person, and that she had a history of drug and alcohol abuse.
TheCount.com has learned, Capra, a dental assistant, made local headlines after being arrested in September, 2017, for allegedly obtaining prescription sedatives unlawfully while at her place of work.
According to records, Capra was charged with theft of controlled substances.
She was out on bond at the time of her death.
In September, an arrest warrant said Capra unlawfully obtained a quantity of alprazolam, or Xanax, and took it while performing her duties as a dental assistant at a Myrtle Beach area dentist’s office. source
At this time, it is unclear exactly what led investigators to Hunt as a report issued Thursday was heavily redacted. The document did state that Hunt admitted to “dumping” Capra’s body.
He later led Horry County officers to the location of her discarded body, Officials said.
Authorities are awaiting toxicology and autopsy results to determine a cause of death.
Hunt remains in the Columbus County Detention Center with bail set at $50,000.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this difficult time.
